This newly built sea-view stone house in Koundouros, Kea sits just an hour from Athens yet feels a world away. Built in the island's traditional Cycladic stone architecture and finished with clean, modern comfort, it sleeps up to six and suits families and small groups who want calm, sea air, and easy access to some of Kea's best beaches.
Two bedrooms — one with a double bed, one with two single loft beds — plus a sofa-bed in the living area, a fully equipped kitchen, and a modern bathroom with shower and bidet. The whole house is air-conditioned (you'll rarely need it) and fitted with ceiling fans, so it stays cool through the Aegean summer.
A front terrace and a large covered veranda with sweeping Aegean views — the spot for morning coffee, long lunches, and evening wine as the sun goes down over the water.
The lively Porto Koundouros beach bar and its Blue Flag beach are a 700m walk downhill, with quieter, unspoilt coves and Koundouraki beach (water sports and diving) close by. The climb back up is a gentle workout — bring water and you'll be glad of the veranda when you return.
With wireless broadband, a full kitchen, and a monthly rate, the house also works for slow travel, off-season escapes, and remote work far from the crowds. Pets are welcome by prior arrangement.
The Greek sun and the Aegean await.

The Island of Kea (also called Tzia) is the first of the Cycladic islands to the south of Attica. Its history and thus monuments date to prehistoric times.
After landing to Athens international airport, one takes a taxi to the port of Lavrio (approx. 20 minutes). From there, one usually takes the ferry to the harbour of Kea, Korrisia, which is at 16 miles, a distance covered in less than 30 minutes by speedboat or 60 minutes by regular ship. By helicopter, Kea abstains less than 10 minutes from the Airport.
Koundouros, where the house is located, is an archeologically and culturally preserved area with stone-built houses. It is at 19 km from the port of Kea, covered within 30 minutes by taxi or private car. There are also buses running, but not on all days of the week :)
You can reach the closest beach by foot, at 700m, by taking a steep downhill road. The way up back to the house might be a small cardio-workout, but it is worth it! We recommend having water with you :) Many other beaches are in close reach, by foot or by car. The nearby Koundouraki beach offers a variety of water sports, including diving.
You will find the closest super market in Pisses, at 10 minutes by car (or a longer, early morning or evening walk), otherwise there are many in Ioulida or Korrisia.
You will find restaurants in Porto Koundouros or down the road, Zerat and To Kampi, as well as the nearby the village of Pisses (Margarita and Christoforos).
Welcome to our own little part of Paradise!
